Industry follows fashion

Pantone is known for beautiful colors in paints. As the interior design industry typically follows fashion (and vise versa), I have scooped up from pantone's website their colors for fall 2008! I have also tried to find these color trends in interior settings to give you a better idea.

The Color Purple - Prominent in Fall Designer Collections

Inky Blues, Greens and purples made up a prominent fashion base for runway designers showing their fall collections. This is likely to be the most popular color in the high-street given its versatility and femininity.

Commonly mixed with red and found in rich velvets, silks and satins, women are going to be finding themselves in a purple haze for the fall season. Already seeping through into spring and summer women's fashion, purples and lilac base colors look set to provide a rich backdrop for our fall wardrobe in evening gowns, figure hugging dresses, shaggy furs and fringes, tops, skirts and shoes.

And those are the fall color trends for 2008! Enjoy :)

walking on beauty

One day while I was searching the internet for resources in college, I stumbled upon this fabulous website.

Galbraith & Paul

The site features lighting, textiles and rugs. Personally, I adore the rugs!!

This one is called "spring garden"

All of the items are to the trade only, which I think makes them all the more special.

However! There is luck on getting some of the Galbraith & Paul textiles (in pillow form) and lighting!! But, be ready to pay a pretty penny for them.

They are available at room & board.

I think what draws me to their designs are the simplicity in the patterns. They are made with chunky block prints in beautiful color palettes.

So go check them out!

and here we go...

With much deliberation, I have decided to start blogging. WHY? To reduce my boredom while I look for a job. Speaking of my future job (whatever and wherever it might be...), I have also decided that this site will be focused on design. Ideas. Inspiration. Things I like.
Hopefully, this will help keep me motivated to look for a job in interior design that will keep me passionate as well.
I cannot promise to update everyday, but I would like to keep this as up-to-date as possible within means :)

I am off to begin my search for the next post!
